Following the announcement of the SIGGRAPH 2006 winners in April, SIGGRAPH today confirmed that Digic Pictures’ cinematic trailer created for the upcoming computer game release Warhammer: Mark of Chaos was selected to be shown as part of the SIGGRAPH 2006 Electronic Theater Program. Namco Bandai commissioned Digic Pictures to create the intro movie for the upcoming RTS game, which is being developed by Black Hole Entertainment. The detailed short film, which was shown for the first time during E3, introduces the dark atmosphere of the fantasy world of Warhammer. "Digic is really at the cutting edge of what’s possible in pre-rendered cinematics, they are doing things that no one else can right now, and they have done an amazing job capturing the spirit of Warhammer with the intro.", said Chris Wren, senior producer at Namco Bandai Games America. “It is a great honor for us to have our work among the best and this recognition reaffirms our faith in the work we do. Movies for computer games still secrete plenty of unutilized possibilities,” commented Gabor Marinov, creative producer of Digic Pictures. This is the second Hungarian 3D animated short to earn the prestigious SIGGRAPH recognition. The first Hungarian animation chosen for the Electronic Theater was a cinematic trailer for Armies of Exigo, which was also created by Digic Pictures in 2003. The Warhammer: Mark of Chaos trailer will be one of only two video game shorts shown August 1 – 3 in Boston, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, with the second being from Tecmo's Monster Farm 5 Circus Caravan.
