Super Mario Galaxy 2 regained the number one position on Japanese weekly video game unit sales charts with 53,000 units sold for the week ended June 20, Media Create revealed Thursday. It's the third week the game has led rankings since its May 27 Japanese debut, with total Japanese sales for the Wii-exclusive game standing at 572,000 units through the week. The previous week, Super Mario Galaxy 2, the sequel to the 2007 original, dropped down a spot to make room for Nintendo's Xenoblade for Wii, which led rankings a week ago. Xenoblade dropped to number four with 21,000 units sold for the most recent period. Three new DS games broke into the Japanese top 10 in the form of Capcom's Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, Nintendo's Art Academy and Bandai Namco's Tamagotchi no Pichi Pichi Omisecchi. The PlayStation 3 game Hakuoki: Junsouroku from Idea Factory also made the top 10 list. Falling out of the top 10 from last week were the games Mega Man Zero Collection from Capcom, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 and Just Cause 2 from Square Enix, Fairy Tail: Portable Guild from Konami and New Super Mario Bros. Wii from Nintendo. Below is Media Create's top 10 video game sales chart by units sold for the week ended June 20:
