Quantic Dream and Sony's unique PlayStation 3 adventure game Heavy Rain debuted at the top of the weekly UK sales charts, making it the first Sony number one since Killzone 2 from a year ago. For the week ended February 27, 2010, Heavy Rain was able to dethrone last week's number one, Sega and Rebellion's Aliens vs. Predator, which launched a week prior on multiple platforms, Chart-Track said Monday. Even though Heavy Rain is a single-platform game, it was able to outsell all other games on Chart-Track's all-platforms list, which lumps together sales of all versions of a given title. Heavy Rain, dubbed by publisher Sony as an "interactive drama," is Quantic Dream's first video game since 2005's Indigo Prophecy, another game that was a different take on the adventure game genre. So far, the adult-themed Heavy Rain is scoring well with critics, with an 88 on review aggregator Metacritic. Another new game debuting in the top 10 was Sumo Digital and Sega's Sonic and Sega All-Star Racing, which landed in the eighth spot. BioShock 2 from 2K Games fell from third last week to ninth. Games dropping out of the all-platforms top 10 from last week include Sega's Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games and Electronic Arts' Army of Two: The 40th Day. UK All Platforms Top 10 1.
