Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
The UK charts have quietened considerably from the previous week with only one new entry in the top forty, as Ninja Gaiden Sigma debuts at number 19, Harry Potter remains in the top position, and Nintendo’s More Brain Training follows
After an extremely busy week of new releases last week, the UK sales charts have seen relatively less movement this week, with film tie-in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix remaining at the number one spot. With the opening of the movie, the game, which has received relatively positive reviews compared to other tie-ins this summer, saw sales rise by 29 percent. The fastest mover in the top ten is More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima (aka Brain Age 2), which rises three places to number two. At the same time the first Brain Training game re-enters the top ten at number ten, a total of fifty-seven weeks after its initial release. The only genuine new entry of the week is Tecmo’s Ninja Gaiden Sigma on the PlayStation 3. The series (which was originally known as Shadow Warriors on the NES in Europe) has always fared relatively poorly in the UK, with the PlayStation 3 exclusive debuting only at number nineteen this week. The only other new entry in the top forty is soccer management title Football Manager 2007 from Sega and Sports Interactive, which re-enters the chart at number thirty-four following widespread retail discounting.
