FIFA Completes Hat Trick In UK Charts

Electronic Arts’ soccer simulation FIFA 07 has returned to the top of the UK charts for the third time, after briefly being deposed by Need for Speed Carbon last week. With no major releases due until Lost Planet on the Xbox 360 next week, all the movement in the charts this week has been due to mass discounting of some titles in the January sales. Both FIFA 07 and fellow soccer game Pro Evolution Soccer 6 have seen their chart position benefit from the sales, although Canis Canem Edit (aka Bully) has seen the biggest jump in the top ten, with a move of twelve places. Elsewhere in the top forty, Tomb Raider Legend has risen twenty-six places to number thirteen, while The Simpsons: Hit & Run has re-entered that charts at number twenty-four – three years after its initial release. With the Wii console, and much of its peripherals and software, out of stock in the UK there are no Wii exclusive titles in the top forty. In the Wii only software chart though Ubisoft’s Red Steel is the best selling game, followed by The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Rayman Raving Rabbids.
