Microsoft has announced, via the weblog of staffer Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb, the top ten Xbox 360 games currently being played over Xbox Live worldwide, as well as the top ten titles for the the original Xbox being played over the online service. Once again, Activision and Infinity Ward's World War II first-person shooter Call of Duty 2 was the most played Xbox 360 title over Xbox Live for the week, followed by Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and 2K Games and Bethesda Softworks' role-playing game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The fourth most played Xbox 360 title over Xbox Live for the week was Electronic Arts and Digital Illusions' next-generation port of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, followed by Microsoft and Bizarre Creation's Project Gotham Racing 3 and Square Enix's Final Fantasy XI. Newcomer Table Tennis from Rockstar ranked as the seventh most played Xbox Live title for the Xbox 360, knocking down Electronic Arts' Fight Night Round 3 to eighth. Rare's first-person shooter Perfect Dark Zero and the downloadable demo for Eidos' recently released Hitman: Blood Money filled the ninth and tenth spots respectively. Interestingly, the recently released Xbox Live Arcade card game UNO, which ranked in the number eight spot last week, has fallen off the chart completely. With regards to titles for the original Xbox, Halo 2 remained the most played game over Xbox Live for the week, followed by Battlefield 2: Modern Combat and the Xbox port of Counter-Strike. Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory was the fourth most played Xbox title over Xbox Live for the week, followed by Pro Evolution Soccer, the latest entry in Konami's perennial soccer series, and another Ubisoft title, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow. Electronic Arts' Madden NFL 2006 ranked as the seventh most played game over Live, while LucasArts' Star Wars Battlefront II and Microsoft's own Forza Motorsport remained as the eighth and ninth most played Xbox games over Live for the week. Another Ubisoft title, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike, rounded out the list in tenth.
