Bet On Soldier Developer Severs Digital Jesters Ties

Representatives from French developer Kylotonn Entertainment have announced that the company has terminated its distributing and publishing agreement with UK-headquartered publisher Digital Jesters with immediate effect, complaining of a series of breaches of contract. The dispute centers around PC first person shooter Bet On Soldier: Blood Sport, released earlier this year. The developer claims that the company has suffered from non-payments and breaches of contract perpetrated by the management of Digital Jesters. This is not the first developer to raise similar concerns, with European PC developers Cyanide, Nadeo, Focus Home Interactive and Frogwares writing a strongly worded group letter to UK game industry site GamesIndustry.biz in July alleging non-payment, and commenting: "We expected better from a company that we were led to trust." Digital Jesters marketing director Leo Zullo denied problems at the time, suggesting: "We're doing our best to maintain existing relationships through what has been a difficult trading period, and everyone has been approached with a proposed resolution." However, following this latest public argument, which has led to Kylotonn sending a public disassociation to leading news sites, the French developer is now seeking to arrange a new agreement with another publisher for Bet On Soldier in the UK and the U.S., where the game was previously published by Digital Jesters.
