Developers, here's something worth watching: Spacebase DF-9 creator JP LeBreton joined id Software co-founder John Romero to play through a version of Doom late last year as part of Double Fine and 2 Player Productions' ongoing "Devs Play" video series.

Romero and Breton (a self-avowed Doom enthusiast whose career encompasses work on both Bioshock and Bioshock 2) shared a good bit of banter about the intricacies of level design and first-person game development during the experience, which spans ten videos posted to Double Fine's YouTube channel.

They're worth watching if you'd like a bit of insight into a groundbreaking game, and serve as a nice contemporary counterpoint for the Doom postmortem talk that Romero and fellow id co-founder Tom Hall gave at GDC 2011.
