Video: Dealing with feedback while making deeply personal games

Developer Nina Freeman takes the stage at GDC 2015 to talk about making 'personal' games like How Do You Do It? -- and how to handle player feedback on these highly personal experiences.

It's still relatively uncommon for developers to make games about their own life experiences, but it's becoming less so -- and for designers on the forefront of that wave of change, dealing with player feedback on these intensely personal works can be tough.

At GDC 2015, developer Nina Freeman took the stage during the Indie Soapbox session to talk about the benefits and drawbacks of creating 'personal' games such as How Do You Do It? 

She also shared some of the more interesting feedback she's received from the public along the way, and offered advice to other game makers interested in expressing themselves through game design.
