Clint Hocking, creative director at Ubisoft Montreal, will be the keynote speaker at the Game Design Expo in February in Vancouver. The expo will be hosted by Vancouver Film School, which has now announced other details of the show’s lineup of game industry speakers and workshops. The first day of the two-day event, February 7, 2009, is designated “Speaker Day,” and will begin with Hocking’s keynote address. Other game industry speakers will include Matt Searcy, lead designer, Nexon Publishing North America; Scott Dossett, senior animator, Epic Games; Ellen Beeman, lead producer, Microsoft Game Studios; Drew Murray, lead designer, Insomniac Games; and Kelly Zmak, president of Radical Entertainment. The second day of the event will include a free open house tour of Vancouver Film School for prospective students. The third-annual Game Design Expo will take place at the Vancity Theater at the Vancouver International Film Centre. Admission to Speaker Day is $75CDN.
