Fantasy author and game designer Joe Dever has passed away at the age of 60.

Dever was well known for creating the Lone Wolf choose-your-own-adventure novels and had been working with developer Forge Reply in recent years on an episodic video game continuation of the series, titled Joe Dever’s Lone Wolf.

He also worked on games such as Killzone and Ground Control II during his decades-long career as a writer and game designer.

“He felt part of the development team and we have always felt very proud about that," said the Forge Reply team in a post memorializing Dever.

"But most of all, he was completely loyal to his fans. He knew that his fame and fortune did not come from the books themselves, but from the passion and the love of generations of readers and players."
