Good morning everyone,

For the last few weeks I had quite some Ideas for some games coming into my mind, but nothing seemed more appealing than the one I am going to share here today.

It is adressed to players in a situation that I found myself in last week. Me and a friend got a little bit tired of the game we use to play together and were looking for some altrernatives that offer an appealing coop, but no competitive elements.

It seems that there are not a lot of these games out there on the market at the moment that we found appealing.

So here is my Idea for this coop game.

It is a 2 people cooperative gameplay and therefor has two charcters to choose from. Each Character in the beginning has one unique ability and might unlock more abilities during the game.

For Example one Character could have the Ability to shoot ropes, that will attach themselves to the point he hit and to his right hand. He then has the option to let go of the rope or to pull himself along the rope, which allows him to reach areas that the other character can not reach on hiw own.

The other Character therefore might have either the same ability or the ability to crush obstacles for instance. The combination of those two abilities in the most efficient way would then allow the team to reach their goal as fast as possible.

Goal of the game is it to solve puzzles by combining each characters ability with each other and in the end to reach a certain destination (for example the tip of a mountain).

One Example for the combinations of the abilities would be that player one with the ropes reaches a high point, he then throws his rope at his mate and swings him into a certain direction. If we take the example of player 2 being able to crush things this could work then like a wrecking ball.

If player 2 also has the ability to use ropes it could mean for them to be able to reach spots that are further away, if player 1 for example swings player twoin a certain direction. Player 2 then throws his rope to a far away point in this direction and if he reaches it, he can then grab player 1 again.

The genre of this game would be a 3D (or 2.5D platformer) Jump and Run, which may include some traps and enemies, but focuses mostly on the two players perfectly working together and aligning the timing of their abilities to an efficency that will allow them to set the record for each level.

Target Audience: 10+

Target Platform: PC, Console

USP: Appealing, challenging cooperative gameplay and difficult "puzzles" to solve

Style: Neither cartoony nor photorealistic. More like in between, but still open.

Setting: Sci-Fi / Steampunk / Mystical - not set -> open

Main Goal: Solving puzzles most efficient ( highscore )

If you have any inspiration on that or anything to add let me know in the comments.

Cheers,

Tom
