App Developers Conference organizers have announced new talks for the GDC Next co-located app event, including Waking Life's Bob Sabiston on making innovative animation software Inchworm Animation and Voxel, and Stormpath CTO Les Hazlewood on designing REST+JSON API for the Web. From the creators of the largest and longest-running game professional-focused Game Developers Conference (GDC), the brand new App Developers Conference (ADC) offers professionals a venue to share their knowledge about building, designing, marketing, and selling their apps. The event will commence November 5th-7th at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will be co-located with GDC Next. In Bob Sabiston's 'Programming as Art,' the Rotoshop animation software creator (used in movies "Waking Life" and "A Scanner Darkly") will discuss the design and UI approaches for three of his recent projects. He will speak about differences between developing for Apple versus Nintendo hardware, reviewing Inchworm Animation (art software for Nintendo DSi/eShop), Headspace (3D mind-mapping for iOS), and Voxel (block-building and 3D-printing for iOS). Attendees will learn how to juggle resource collection and references, pagination, query parameters, and the proper HTTP methods using real-world REST+JSON API examples built with Java technologies.
