Newsbrief: The PlayStation 4, which is currently available in 124 countries, has now sold over 30.2 million units worldwide since launching in November 2013.

According to Sony the console reached that landmark on November 22, demonstrating "the fastest and strongest growth in PlayStation hardware history."

By comparison, Nintendo recently revealed that 10.73 million Wii U systems have been sold since it launched back in 2012.

Microsoft is keeping its Xbox One sales figures close to its vest for the time being, although last November the company did announce that nearly 10 million consoles had been shipped.
