Stockholm-based VR studio Fast Travel Games has raised a grand total of $2.1 million at the end of a series A round of funding.

All in all, the funds gained will go to support the development of Fast Travel Games’ inaugural title, an action-adventure game headed to “all major VR headsets.” Beyond that, the cash infusion will help the Swedish studio bolster its numbers ahead of its next project and support its plans to double in size within the next year.

Fast Travel Games was founded in the summer of 2016 by industry veterans from Rovio, EA, and Dice with the goal of creating “narratively rich” worlds within virtual reality spaces.

This latest funding round was led by the Nordic venture capital firm Industrifonden and saw additional contributions from Creades, Inbox Capital, and previous investor Sunstone Capital.

With that, the development house has seen a total of $2.9 million in investment since first opening its doors just over one year back.
