Vivendi COO Stéphane Roussel has been named as the Chairman and CEO of French mobile giant, Gameloft.

The change is one of many new appointments made by Vivendi following its hostile takeover of the Modern Combat developer.

"I start my role today with an ambitious plan: to combine your creative passion with Vivendi’s to accelerate Gameloft's development," said Roussel.

"You will be a fully-integrated member of the Vivendi family while maintaining your distinctiveness and originality.”

Working alongside Roussel on the Gameloft Board of Directors will be Francine Mayer, chairman of Canal+ Régie; Maxime Saada, CEO of Canal+ Group and chairman and CEO of Dailymotion; Frédéric Crépin, member of the Vivendi Management Board; and Sébastien Bolloré, director and chairman of Blue Solutions USA.

Vivendi plans to meet with Gameloft's senior management next week to devise a strategy to take the studio forward.
