Video game campaigns on Kickstarter brought in $46,177,705 from 480,382 backers during 2015.

Newsbrief: Video game campaigns on Kickstarter brought in $46,177,705 from 480,382 backers during 2015.

That's according to new stats released by the crowdfunding outfit, which also reveal there were 421 successful video game projects during those 12 months.

Long-awaited threequel Shenmue III became the most-funded video game campaign of all time last year, raising $6.3 million from over 69,000 backers. 

Previous record holder, Bloodstained, became 2015's second most popular video game campaign after raising $5.5 million.
