Popular middleware maker Unity Technologies has announced the fifth annual Unite developer conference will take place September 28 through 30 in San Francisco's Masonic Center. "We... look forward to welcoming our community to San Francisco this September," said Unity CCO Nicholas Francis, in a statement. "The conference provides us with a fantastic opportunity to engage directly with our community and through technical sessions and panel talks discuss Unity and its place in the wider industry." Those wishing to present at the three-day conference can submit ideas for sessions through June 24. The event will also include the annual Unity Awards, honoring the best content made for the Unity development platform, which is used by over 450,000 registered users. Tickets are currently available for reduced early bird rates at the conference web site. Previous Unite conferences have hosted keynote speeches from game industry luminaries including Sony's Phil Harrison and Schell Games' Jesse Schell. The first Unite conference in 2007 also served as the launch platform for the Unity 2.0 development environment.
