Ubisoft plans to open a new triple-A production studio in the Philippines in the second quarter of this year.

The Assassin's Creed creator will aim to hire up to 50 new people in the studio's first year, and will task its new team with collaborating and assisting with the development of its triple-A console releases.

The Philippines office will be the French publisher's second in South East Asia -- the first is located in Singapore -- and will be based on the campus of De La Salle University in Santa Rosa, the emerging Central Business District in the South of Manila.

"We chose to grow in the Philippines because of its great talent pool and I am confident the new studio will meet our demanding standards," said Olivier de Rotalier, managing director of Ubisoft Singapore.

“Our number one priority will be to develop the high potential of our new team members to reach the level of expertise and quality needed to work on triple-A games, just as we have previously done in Singapore."
