UK video game industry trade group TIGA has outlined details for its upcoming Casual Games Committee event later this month. The group is looking to put together a new committee with a focus on supporting UK social and mobile game developers. The committee will provide production budgets of between £10,000 and £500,000 for games on all formats. The first casual games event will take place on May 13 in London, where over 100 casual game developers will hear speakers from a variety of companies, including BBC Worldwide Games, Channel 4 Education, Microsoft and Disney. Dr. Richard Wilson, CEO for TIGA, said of the new committee, "TIGA’s vision is to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business." "Casual games are a crucial part of our industry. TIGA’s new Casual Games Committee will support our casual games developer members by raising their profile and by generating new business opportunities for them." Earlier in the month, the trade group announced the election of five new directors to its board, including Crytek's Karl Hilton and Lionhead Studios' Georgina Mackenzie.
