Embracer subsidiary THQ Nordic has purchased animation studio Metricminds for an undisclosed fee.

Based in Germany, Metricminds is known for creating vcutscenes, trailers, motion capture, keyframe animation, facial animation, and cinematics.

The company has worked on high-profile projects including Dying Light, Borderlands 2, Batman Arkham Origins, and both Horizon titles.

The acquisition includes the core Metricminds team, comprising specialists from the video game, broadcast, and movie industries.

Earlier this month, Embracer revealed it has 25 AAA projects in development across its various studios, and described its M&A strategy as "transformational."

The Swedish conglomerate intends to pursue more acquisitions and has set aside SEK 8 billion in cash and credit to finance future deals.
