During Oculus' inaugural press conference in San Francisco today, company wunderkind Palmer Luckey briefly took the stage to close out the show with "one more thing" -- a presentation on the Oculus Touch, Oculus' first publicly-announced controller.

The device is still being developed, and what Luckey brought to the stage was a prototype Oculus Touch that the company calls "Half Moon."

According to Luckey, the Oculus Touch prototype controller is actually two identical wireless motion controllers designed to be tracked across 360 degrees of movement; each controller sports a thumbstick, an analog trigger, a hand trigger and two face buttons. They're capable of providing haptic feedback, and Luckey claims they're being designed to detect "touch-based input" from all fingers.

Luckey went on to say Oculus has been testing them in tandem with the Oculus Toyboy experience, a sort of VR playground, where people "can punch garden gnomes, play tetherball, and just have fun" in a virtual space alongside fellow players.

For your edification and enjoyment, we've taken the liberty of sharing some promotional images of the Oculus Touch below, which got a lot of VR game developers buzzing after the event.
