The Walking Dead comic publisher launches games business
Former biz dev VP for Foundation 9 lands at Skybound, the comics and media imprint launched by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, to lead comic-to-game efforts.

Newsbrief: The Walking Dead is a notable recent hit in games -- and obviously the creator of the IP noticed. Skybound, which publishes the comic, has launched Skybound Interactive -- and brought in a game industry insider to run it, VentureBeat reports. Dan Murray was VP of business development for independent developer collective Foundation 9 Entertainment from October 2006 to December 2013. He's now heading up Skybound Interactive. The plan seems to be to turn Skybound's other comic properties into games. "It’s about starting as a comic, releasing it in the market, and letting the fans decide. It’s a natural and organic way to approach transmedia," Murray told VentureBeat.
