This week Stockholm-based developers David Goldfarb and Benjamin Cousins took the wraps off their new indie studio: The Outsiders.

This has been a long time coming -- Goldfarb quit his post as Payday 2 game director at Overkill Software last summer to start his own indie venture.

At the time he said he had four developers working with him on a new project, but he and Cousins are currently the only known members of The Outsiders.

The pair previously spent some time working together at DICE on the Battlefield franchise before going their separate ways. Cousins later helped launch Ngmoco Sweden (which became Scattered Entertainment) before taking up a career as a free-to-play game consultant.

Going forward, Cousins will serve as The Outsiders CEO while his cofounder takes on the role of creative lead as they embark on their inaugural project, which Goldfarb described as "my first stab at [an RPG] - or my first real stab" in an interview with Eurogamer.
