Social app and game monetization company Tapjoy has hired industry veteran Larry Berkin as vice president and general manager of its Asia-Pacific operations. Berkin was formerly senior vice president at Symbian Foundation, a non-profit organization for the Symbian operating system. He will help the company to expand the reach of its ad-funded mobile gaming model in the Asia-Pacific region, working closely with Tapjoy's key partners in those countries. "Tapjoy is an incredible growth engine and an important global revenue platform for the rising tide of free, ad-supported mobile applications," noted Berkin. "The Asia-Pacific region has some of the most sophisticated mobile markets in the world and is full of entrepreneurial talent brimming with growth potential. I'm excited to lead Tapjoy's efforts there." Recently, Tapjoy revealed that it had secured $30 million in Series D financing, which it planned to use to accelerate the company's technology roadmap, expand its advertiser relationships, broaden its services, and "aggressively pursue new opportunities."
