Submit your games!: A tip from the 2014 Game Career Guide

In this edition, Rami Ismail of Luftrausers developer Vlambeer offers some advice for indies and student developers: step up and submit your game to every festival and award show you can!
Looking to advance your career in the video game industry? The annual Game Career Guide for 2014 is still available and eminently useful! In this edition, Rami Ismail of Luftrausers developer Vlambeer offers some advice for indies and student developers: step up and submit your game to every festival and award show you can! It may cost a bit of money and leave you feeling rejected, but it also helps you keep an eye on what's happening in the industry -- and ensures the industry keeps its eye on you. "The one piece of advice I give everybody is to go to events, and submit your game for awards," says Ismail. "We here at Vlambeer owe a large part of what we're able to do to that Independent Games Festival nomination we got for our game Super Crate Box in 2011." "The contacts we made and the attention we got put us on the path to where we are now." Ismail goes on to offer tailored recommendations for which festivals and award shows are most appropriate for your game. There's much more in this year's Game Career Guide. Download it today!
