Newsbrief: Syndicate reboot developer Starbreeze is set to acquire Payday: The Heist studio Overkill Software, as a means of boosting development efforts on upcoming games Project Mercury and V13. Overkill saw overall sales of 15.4 million Swedish kronor ($2.3 million) during 2011, with profits of 4.3 million Swedish kronor ($639,000) for the year, thanks to sales of Payday on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The acquisition will be completed in June, with a purchase price that amounts to 200 million newly issued shares in Starbreeze.
