Spanish publisher BadLand games has launched a new international publishing division for indie games, rather appropriately dubbed "BadLand Games Publishing."
As part of the new initiative, the company has opened a research office in Warsaw, Poland, to expand its publishing efforts and boost its presence on the global stage.
In Spain, BadLand is the official distributor of popular titles like Minecraft: Story Mode, Sniper Elite 4, and Darksiders Warmastered Edition.
The company has also published a raft of indie efforts including Velocity 2X: Critical Mass Edition, The Sexy Brutale: Full House Edition, and Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition.
Twin stick shooter Vostok Inc. and metroidvania effort Necrocosmos are the first two games to be snapped up by the firm's fledgling publishing division.
“BadLand Games Publishing is born from the ambition to take the creativity and freshness of the new indie games to a wider audience," explained BadLand CEO, Luis Quintans.
"There are lots of newly founded studios that are breaking away with visual and playable conventions, and our goal is to help them reach a public who is avid for innovative content."
