Sony has revealed the PlayStation Official League, an eSports platform for the PlayStation 4 that will utilize matchmaking to offer prizes to players of numerous big-name AAA games. The company will launch the eSports platform tomorrow, starting in Spain to begin with, then branching out to other countries. The service will be available for PS Plus subscribers, and is being supported by a number of third-party publishers. Games like Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, War Thunder and FIFA 15 will be supported from the get-go, reports Spanish games website Gamereactor, while support for plenty of other games is on the way. The idea is that there will be "seasons," whereby players will be able to build up their ranks over a set number of months, potentially reap rewards at the end of this period, and then start again in a new season. Gamasutra has contacted Sony about when we can expect this service to reach the U.S.
