Sony Online Entertainment said this week it would offer DC Universe Online players on PC and PlayStation 3 a month's worth of subscription credit and a wearable, in-game mask to make up for a prolonged PlayStation Network and SOE Station.com outage that has made the game unplayable. Impacted players will receive an extra 30 days of subscription credit on top of credit for the total period PSN and Station.com are down, according to a posting on the game's Facebook page. Players will also receive an "appearance item" mask in the style of Batman (pictured). The news comes after SOE promised last week to "make good" for the PSN side of the outage, which started April 20. Sony later announced that it discovered millions of SOE accounts were additionally compromised on May 2. "Please bear with us as the complexities of the subscription server dictate how and when this will be available along with pertinent details," SOE said. "We will be releasing more information this week. Thanks again for your patience!" Sony said Sunday it expects to start a phased relaunch of PSN service this week after shutting down the service in response to what was later revealed to be a breach of private PSN user data.
