Rust has surpassed 12 million sales

Rust officially launched on February 8, 2018, but was previously available in early access form.

Facepunch Studios' multiplayer survival title Rust has topped 12 million sales.

Writing on Steam, the studio explained Rust had sold precisely 12,481,079 copies by the end of 2021, while combined sales of DLC packs totalled 1,111,846 units.

Rust officially launched on February 8, 2018, but was previously made available through early access in December 2013. The title is currently available on multiple platforms including Windows PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. 

According to Facepunch, Rust also delivered record-high player counts last year, boasting 267,211 concurrent in-game players at its peak.
