Row Sham Bow Inc., the
recently-formed game development studio created by former EA Tiburon employees, has raised $3 million in venture capital funding from Intersouth Partners.
The deal represents Intersouth's first investment in a game development company, according to a statement announcing the move.
"It’s not common to find a strong team like the one leading Row Sham Bow," said Intersouth's John Glushik, who will join the company's Board of Directors. "With proven experience developing for and leading gaming companies, this team is perfectly composed to lead a company that is creating innovative games and technology that will engage audiences in new ways."
Orlando, FL-based Row Sham Bow is currently hiring for some of the 60 positions it plans to fill in its Orlando, Florida offices.
The company has yet to announce any specific projects, but
its web site says the employees "build games that anyone can play and enjoy" on "direct to consumer platforms."
The founding team's previous experience at EA Tiburon includes credits on EA Sports titles including the
Madden NFL,
Tiger Woods PGA Tour and
EA Sports MMA series.
