Following a successful collaboration on Angry Birds Rio, Fox Digital's mobile VP Andrew Salbow has jumped ship to Rovio. As Rovio's new general manager for the North American market, Salbow will "work on growing the Angry Birds franchise through entertainment industry partnerships and new distribution channels for video animation," as well as supporting the launch of new IP and revenue streams for the company. "I saw firsthand the power of the Angry Birds brand during the collaboration with the talented Rovio team on Angry Birds Rio," said Salbow in a statement. "I'm looking forward to helping grow Rovio's business and the Angry Birds franchise by building partnerships with the entertainment industry, the biggest consumer brands and the latest digital distribution platforms." Rovio recently partnered with bookstore chain Barnes & Noble to launch dedicated Angry Birds retail locations. The company also recently hired former Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel as a special advisor, and acquired animation studio Kombo.
