Newsbrief: Rockstar Games will port the first Max Payne game, which originally released for Windows nearly eleven years ago, to iOS and Android devices later this month. This mobile edition of the third-person shooter follows several months after Rockstar ported another old but popular console title, Grand Theft Auto III, to iOS and Android. That version has performed well for the publisher, often appearing on those platforms' weekly top-grossing games lists. Offering high-definition visuals, controls adapted for touchscreen devices, and support for Rockstar's free Social Club service, Max Payne Mobile will release for iPhone (3GS and newer), iPod Touch 4, and iPad on April 12. It will follow up with an Android edition that launches on April 26. Max Payne Mobile's release will follow just weeks after Rockstar ships Max Payne 3 for Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 -- the first entry for the series in more than eight years. The Max Payne games have so far sold more than 7.5 million copies.
