Jam City has reportedly laid off an unknown number of developers, including some at subsidiary and Marvel Avengers Academy dev TinyCo.

The company looks to have quietly laid off staff members last week, and though details on the extent of those layoffs are scarce at the moment, some early reports suggest that the cuts were sizable. Gamasutra has reached out to Jam City for comment.

An anonymous source speaking to Gamasutra confirmed that some layoffs had occurred over the past few weeks, though they were unsure how many developers had ultimately been affected. That individual added that the studio has been shifting staff to focus on Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery in recent months and that only a "skeleton crew" remains on TinyCo's past mobile title Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow.

As always, if you or someone you know has been affected by these layoffs, you can email Gamasutra to share your story confidentially.

Jam City, formerly SGN Games, is based out of Los Angeles and has picked up ownership of a number of notable mobile studios in the past few years, including TinyCo, Kiwi Inc, and Fat Rascal Games. The studio itself is known for its free-to-play mobile titles like Cookie Jam, Panda Pop, and, most recently, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery
