CD Projekt Red's RPG
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has sold nearly 1 million copies since it was released in May, according to media reports.
According to Polish news site Parkiet, and
as reported by the Warsaw Business Journal, CD Projekt recorded 940,000 sales of the game in the first half of 2011.
The company had previously revealed in June that
The Witcher 2 surpassed 400,000 units in its first week on sale.
The original game, released in October 2007,
sold over 1 million copies in its first year on sale -- a feat that the company claimed was especially impressive for a title based on an unfamiliar IP from an unknown studio.
The company also revealed that, for the first half of 2011, it saw profits of 20.4 million Polish zloty ($7.09 million) and generated 80.3 million Polish zloty ($27.92 million) in revenue.
Apart from its work with video games, CD Projekt also publishes Disney movies for the Polish market, and is set to publish Polsat movies from this September.
