Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list. This week brings Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and The Darkness II to retailers worldwide, while Shank 2 and Gotham City Imposters arrive for digital platforms. The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending February 11th, 2012. Games Released in the United States: Big Huge Games' action-RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning premieres for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms in North America and Europe this week. Boasting a creative talent pool that includes The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston and fantasy author R.A. Salvatore, Amalur features multiple playable races, expansive class trees, and combat that recalls the God of War series. Also hitting retail this week are Digital Extremes' first-person shooter sequel The Darkness II, Capcom's 3DS-exclusive survival horror title Resident Evil: Revelations, and a PlayStation 3 compilation featuring Naughty Dog's 3D platformers Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3. Klei Entertainment's side-scrolling beat-'em-up Shank 2 and the Batman universe-based multiplayer FPS Gotham City Imposters headline this week's digital multiplatform lineup, while PlayStation 3 owners will additionally see a PlayStation Move-compatible port of Sega's arcade light gun shooter The House of the Dead III.
