PSP Sits Firmly At Top Of Weekly Japanese Charts

Sony's PSP continued to top the Japanese dedicated video game hardware sales charts this week, although sales of the system fell greater than for any other platform, for the week ended June 12.

Sony's PSP continued to top the Japanese dedicated video game hardware sales charts this week, although sales of the system fell greater than for any other platform. For the week ended June 12, according to data from Media Create, the PSP sold a total of 26,750 units, down 3,500 from the week before. In comparison, the Nintendo 3DS took second place with 24,649, down 2,500 compared to last week. The majority of the other platforms saw a slight increase in sales over last week, with the Wii selling 6,357 and the PS3 at 17,104 sales. The Xbox 360, however, saw a slight decline to 2,370 from 2,499. The Nintendo DS continued steady sales across its three platforms, with 10,661 sales in total.
