Major Android-based social network PapayaMobile today announced that it has over 50 million users in total, representing notable growth since it stopped publishing its own games. The company has seen its userbase grow by 260 percent since it ceased publishing its own games nearly a year ago. The company put the growth down to "tremendous demand" from third party developers who are using Papaya's SDK and game engine. Papaya also revealed its new development tools, Social Splash, which it says will simplify the porting of Flash and HTML5 games to Android. Facebook and Google+ devs will be able to take advantage of Social Splash without having to learn a new coding language, according to the company. Games converted using Social Splash will also be able to make use of Papaya's social features such as notifications, leaderboards, achievements and more, as well as Papaya's virtual currency and billing system. Android developers can download Social Splash for free today from the official PapayaMobile website. Si Shen, CEO and co-founder of PapayaMobile, explained, "This tool is for every developer that has felt abandoned by Flash and crowded out by Zynga." "We believe in helping HTML5 and Flash developers make the transition to mobile a seamless experience. Not only does this new tool decrease development time, but it also allows developers to launch their entire games catalog onto mobile without having to learn a new coding language."
