Mobile and social game publisher Gameloft announced that its iOS titles have seen more than 200 million downloads on the App Store since the platform's launch in 2008. Gameloft's hit mobile franchises contributing to this milestone include N.O.V.A., Asphalt, Modern Combat, and Let's Golf -- titles modeled after popular game series/genres on home consoles and PC. The company also partners with other publishers to bring their licenses to the mobile space, including brands like Spider-Man, Uno, James Cameron's Avatar, Sonic Unleashed, and Ferrari. One of the publisher's most recent iOS releases, fantasy-themed MMORPG Order and Chaos (which has many similarities to Blizzard's World of Warcraft) managed to rake in revenues of $1 million in just 20 days. Gameloft intends to release over 20 more games to iOS before the end of this year. It will release them with premium, freemium, or subscription-based models depending on their genres. "We have been able to develop a truly massive fan base by offering high-quality games on the App Store," says Gameloft's Publishing SVP Gonzague de Vallois. "For millions of people worldwide, Gameloft is now synonymous with amazing gaming experiences on their iPhone, iPod touch and iPad."
