Moscow-headquartered game publisher and developer Nival on Tuesday announced the founding of a new Kiev, Ukraine-based studio that will focus on the burgeoning mobile gaming market. Nival said the studio -- dubbed Nival Red -- is the company's fourth European studio. It will develop games for iOS and Android mobile and tablet devices, and aid the company in its overall effort to transition to a developer of cross-platform, social strategy games. The unveiling of the Kiev studio comes after the May announcement that Nival established a U.S. office based in Los Angeles. Nival recently launched the Facebook title King's Bounty: Legions, a hex-based strategy game co-developed by Kranx Productions that's a spin-off of Kautauri Interactive's original King's Bounty PC strategy series. The studio is currently working to release the "social strategy game" Prime World. Nival president Sergey Orlovskiy said in a statement, "...The new studio, specializing in cross-platform development, allows us to expand into new markets and extend the unique Prime World universe with exciting, new games." Heading up the new Kiev branch is Artem Mironovskiy, who said in a statement, "Pairing our efforts and Nival's experience allows us to create an exceptional studio that will set a new quality level for mobile games."
