Newsbrief: There have been plenty of unofficial download figures circulating for Super Mario Run, but now Nintendo has released some official statistics.

According to the console maker, which fired out a Japanese press release translated by NeoGAF, the iOS exclusive platfomer has amassed over 40 million downloads in four days.

That's slightly above App Annie's previously reported total of 37 million, although that figure only accounted for three day's worth of downloads.

Unfortunately, Nintendo didn't reveal how many of those initial downloads translated into sales, but the latest App Annie data suggests Super Mario Run has pulled in $14 million in its first three days.
