Two Chicago-based law students are looking to raise awareness among developers, lawyers and the game industry at large about the state of video game law by organizing the first annual Chicago Video Game Law Summit next week.

The event agenda encompasses copyright law, privacy protections, business contracts and other topics that are common causes of concern for game makers, especially those working on their own without expert guidance.

The speaker lineup includes a decent mix of developers and legal professionals, including experienced video game lawyers (and occasional Gamasutra contributors) Mona Ibrahim and Ross Dannenberg.

The summit will take place next Friday, March 27th, and those interested in attending can reserve tickets through the CVGLS Eventbrite page.
