Microsoft will host its Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase in June despite the demise of E3.

The event will take place on June 12 at 1pm ET and according to Microsoft will feature "amazing titles coming from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and our partners around the world."

"The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase will include everything you need to know about the diverse lineup of games coming soon to the Xbox ecosystem, including upcoming releases to Game Pass on Xbox and PC," continued the announcement, which confirmed the event will be streamed around the world.

Microsoft's decision to promote its software lineup as part of a showcase is hardly unusual, but it's interesting to see the company choosing to hold the event during what has traditionally been E3's month of glory.

Earlier this year, the organizers behind E3 announced the all-digital event was being cancelled with a view to relaunching the event in 2023.

The Electronic Software Association, which organises the industry showcase, outlined plans to bring E3 back next year as a "revitalised physical and digital" physical experience.
