Microsoft confirmed today that it plans to start selling the Xbox One in China on September 23rd for 3,669 Chinese yuan, or roughly $600 USD. The company also announced that 13 Chinese developers are working on Xbox One games, including Tencent, Snail Games and NetEase. Beijing-based Perfect World is also working on Xbox One games and has announced plans to launch the console version of its free-to-play MMORPG Neverwinter exclusively on Xbox One, where it will remain exclusive for six months following the console's Chinese debut. Microsoft expects to launch Zoo Tycoon, Forza Motorsport 5: Racing Game of the Year and Kinect Sports Rivals in China alongside the Xbox One, with other first- and third-party titles to follow in the ensuing months. We already knew that Microsoft planned to launch Xbox One in China in September, and that the console would be manufactured in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone by Shanghai-based BesTV to be sold throughout the country -- both at retail and through promotions like China Telecom's Smart Home Initiative. It's also worth noting that Microsoft plans to launch the Xbox One in Japan on September 4th, and that Japanese developers like Cave and From Software are registered to make games for the system.
