Manga publisher Shueisha is branching into game publishing

The company hopes to find and nurture emerging talent.

Manga publisher Shueisha is branching into the world of video games.

The Japanese company has opened a game publishing division called Shueisha Games with the aim of finding and nurturing emerging talent.

In a (translated) blurb on its website, Shueisha said it will strive to "create new games that we have not yet seen and take on the challenge of spreading them to the world."

Announcing the move on Twitter, the company said it has four projects in the pipeline including Oni, Ukiyo, The Tower of Children, and Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions.

Outside of its nascent game projects, Shueisha has published notable manga including Dragon Ball and Weekly Shonen Jump.
