: Following the completion of development on the upcoming Deadpool
video game, Activision has laid off a large portion of the staffers at High Moon Studios.
The San Diego-based High Moon Studios is best known for its Transformers
movie game tie-ins, and has been owned by Activision since 2008. Around 40 employees have been affected by this round of layoffs, according to a statement
given to Kotaku.
"Activision Publishing consistently works to align its costs with its revenues," reads the statement. "This is an ongoing process. With the completion of development on Deadpool
, we are taking a reduction in staff at High Moon Studios to better align our development talent against our slate."
