Sony Computer Entertainment chief Andrew House and Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima confirmed In a video published today that PlayStation is collaborating with Kojima's newly-formed independent studio, Kojima Productions, on the development of a new game.

The video was posted to the official PlayStation YouTube channel less than a day after Nikkei reported that Kojima had finally been cut loose from longtime employer Konami and was forming his own studio while negotiating a potential deal with Sony.

Such a deal has clearly been reached, as the description of the afore-mentioned video notes that the reborn Kojima Productions' debut game will be "console exclusive" to PlayStation 4. Reports say the game will later come to PC.

The prior incarnation of Kojima Productions, a Tokyo-based subsidiary of Konami, was formed in 2005 under Kojima's direction and flourished until it was seemingly stripped of its branding and subsumed back into Konami earlier this year.
