Newsbrief: Independent mobile app store GetJar has appointed a new company CEO, with the aim to focus on developing partnerships with developers and other companies. GetJar's COO Chris Dury has taken up the CEO role, while GetJar founder Ilja Laurs has been named executive chairman. With this move, the company plans to move its main operations from Lithuania to the U.S., as this is where the majority of the company's growth is, it said in a statement. The GetJar online store houses more than 350,000 apps and games for Android, Windows Mobile and other platforms, and has seen over 2 billion downloads to date. Most recently it launched a new virtual currency that works for games released across Android's various app stores, including its own free app store, Android Market, and Amazon's Appstore.
