Newsbrief: Game Closure, a HTML5-based cross-platform tools startup, has raised $12 million in a round of series A funding with the aim to provide its tools to as many developers as possible. The company used its cross-platform tools to launch a tower defense game called Popstar Defense across a variety of platforms last year, reports Venturebeat, and a number of investors were then interested in supporting the outfit as a result. Investors in this round of funding included Highland Capital, Greylock, Benchmark, CRV, and General Catalyst. The company now plans to make its tools available to other developers.
